Tragic Vision: Antigone and King Lear

“Is man no more than this?” In separate plays and different scenarios, Lear and Antigone reveal their tragic vision by essentially asking this question. These strong-willed individuals challenge their world, albeit in different ways. We’ll discuss the link in their identities as they act, arrogantly, battle against destiny, and argue before God and other members of society.
Bud Cox has taught literature, film, art history, and music history for more than 46 years and remains deeply enthusiastic about teaching.
