Dorothea Lange and the Photography of Social Justice
10 a.m. Thursday, November 5 at Sky Midtown
We’ll view the documentary “Dorothea Lange: Grab a Hunk of Lightning,” which reveals Lange’s impact on social justice photography, including landmark images of the Great Depression and the Japanese American incarceration. We’ll be joined by Lange’s granddaughter Dyanna Taylor, who directed the film. A Q&A will follow the screening. As background, you can visit the exhibition “The Legacy of Japanese American Incarceration” at the Vladem Contemporary Museum (September 5, 2026-May 31, 2027).
