Pre-Code Classic Film: I’m No Angel

10 a.m. Thursday, October 22 at Sky Midtown

I’m No Angel is widely considered Mae West’s best film. She plays a lion tamer and also tames every male admirer she meets, which is a lot, until she falls for Cary Grant. The circus owner tries to break them up, but West has her comeuppance in the resulting trial, in which she wins over the judge, jury, and Grant. Just remember, “It’s not the men in your life that count. It’s the life in your men.”

The 90-minute film will be preceded by a 25-minute introduction by Mark Tiarks. He’s a national award-winning writer for the Santa Fe New Mexican and a frequent Renesan presenter.
