Who We Are

Our name says a lot about who we are. RENESAN Institute for Lifelong Learning is a dynamic, constantly evolving nonprofit organization that provides courses and trips in Santa Fe and throughout Northern New Mexico. Many of our students and faculty members are transplants from around the world who’ve led exciting personal and professional lives which add complexity and depth to our courses.

Though no tests or written assignments are required, RENESAN’s courses are taught at a high academic level by retired and active university professors and professionals who are experts in their fields.

Renesan lifelong learning faculty

We offer fall and spring semesters. Our programming includes art, current events, cultural studies, discussions, history, literature, music, performing arts, philosophy, and science courses. Our trips often focus on regional history, architecture, and geology.

RENESAN has a small staff and is largely a volunteer-supported organization. Our dedicated volunteers develop our curriculum, design our catalog, advertise our programs, organize events, and do many other activities needed to keep RENESAN operating and vital.

Averaging over 60 offerings per semester, our curriculum is constantly changing in response to student and faculty interests. We also regularly add new faculty members with unique academic and professional backgrounds.
